Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced Plant Superintendent who will be responsible for overall operation and maintenance of our Pensacola manufacturing facility.

This position will report to the Director of Operations and will be responsible for the overall direction and coordination of several departments to obtain efficiency and economy of operations. The Plant Superintendent will review production operations, establish priorities, and schedules jobs in an efficient manner and pursues excellence in production by monitoring errors and developing corrective action plans, and revising procedures for maintaining excellence in quality standards. This position will have complete ownership of the plant budget.

Essential Functions
  • Plans, organizes, and directs the manufacturing and maintenance operations which ensure the most effective return on assets.
  • Initiates plans and processes which minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital. Assures attainment of business objectives and production schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.
  • Implements Lean Manufacturing strategies and action plans to ensure that the facility supports Daws strategic initiatives.
  • Manages spending against budget, controlling spending in relation to changes in production volume.
  • Works to establish management practices throughout assigned areas which include all employees' positive involvement with opportunity for constructive input and action.
Job Requirements
  • Four (4) year degree in Industrial Management, Business, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience overseeing and managing a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of 5s, Standard Work and other Lean principles
  • Familiarity with industry standard equipment and technical expertise
  • Experience in warehouse operations including shipping & receiving
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and powder coating a plus
  • Knowledge of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation and inventory processes
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
  • Strong team building, decision making and people management skills
  • Ability to formulate and execute strategy to meet financial goals
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Effective communication both oral and written
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems
  • Microsoft office experience, specifically in Excel, Word & Outlook
