Job Description

The Customer Service Representative provides customer service support to the organization by obtaining, analyzing and verifying the accuracy of order information in a timely manner. Initiates and/or implements corrective action as needed in order to ensure that an excellent standard of service and high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.

  • Receives, processes and verifies the accuracy of orders from customers utilizing the organization’s internal systems and customer purchase orders, ascertaining the needs of the customer and providing appropriate assistance and information through friendly, professional customer service skills

  • Responds to escalated customer service issues exercising discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

  • Communicates with other departments for the dissemination of information.

  • Accesses the company’s internal systems to obtain and extract order information and provide customer service management with the data for inclusion in various scheduled and special reports.

  • Participates and provides expertise as a member of the customer service’s departmental team to recommend changes to existing methods and systems to increase the accuracy, efficiency and responsiveness of the customer service department as a whole.

  • Develops customer base and sales leads by making warm calls.

  • Maintains knowledge base on current products and learns about new products.

  • Provides pricing quotations and follow-up on quotes.

  • Performs reporting functions on an ongoing and timely basis including customer quotes.

  • Provides basic technical support on products and troubleshoots (freight problems, expediting, etc.)

  • Setups and maintains customer files. Fills request for catalogs, information or samples.

  • Obtains accurate information from vendors relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.

Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent, along with two years of directly related customer service or marketing experience required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Knowledge of data entry software.
